IRAPUATO, Gto.- The theft of metallic sewers is an unfortunate phenomenon and continued that has not been able to stop in the city, said the director of the Sewer and Drinking Water Board of the Municipality of Irapuato (Japami), Humberto Javier Rosiles Álvarez. Although more than 2 thousand stormholes have been exchanged for polyethylene pieces, Rosiles Álvarez reported that the theft persists daily as there are still 15,000 metal sewers.
“And those 15 thousand are not viable to change immediately, we are still presenting the phenomenon both in sewers and manhole covers that are cast iron,” he explained.
The director of the Japami reported that the sewer robbery is committed in all the colonies of the city “now that where we have cast iron and the iron is in the whole city,” he concluded.
